What is a VPS, and do I need one?
A VPS is a virtual server with its own CPU, memory and disk reserved for you, running an operating system you control. You want one if you need root access, a custom stack, Docker, or resources that nobody else can eat into. If you just want to put a website online, shared hosting or managed WordPress will be simpler and cheaper.
How quickly is my server ready?
Under a minute from checkout. The server is built, booted and given its IP address automatically, and your root credentials are waiting in your account. There is no setup fee and nothing to wait on a human to approve.
Is the server managed?
The platform is managed, the operating system is yours. We run the hardware, the network, the hypervisor and the DDoS protection. You handle what happens above that line, which is what root access buys you. Our UK team is still there when something looks like it is underneath your server rather than on it.
Which operating systems can I install?
Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux, CentOS and Fedora, from clean templates with nothing preinstalled that you did not ask for. You can rebuild onto a different template at any point from the panel if you change your mind.
Can I upgrade later?
Yes, and it is a resize rather than a migration. Moving up a size changes the cores, memory and disk on the same server, so you keep the same IP address and the same data. It takes a minute and needs a reboot, not a rebuild.
Can I run Docker and containers?
Yes. You get a real kernel and full root, so Docker, Podman, k3s and anything else in that family run out of the box. Plenty of our customers use these servers for microservices, self-hosted apps, CI runners and private container registries.
Where are the servers located?
London, Amsterdam, New York and Phoenix today, with Singapore and Tokyo on the way. You pick the region when you build the server, so you can put it next to the people who will actually be using it.
Do I get a dedicated IP address?
Yes, a dedicated IPv4 address plus IPv6 on every server, with reverse DNS you can set yourself. Nothing is shared with another customer.
Is DDoS protection included?
Yes, on every plan at no extra cost, capable of absorbing attacks well in excess of 1 Tbps. There is nothing to enable or configure and no add-on to buy.
What about backups?
You can take snapshots of the whole server before a risky change and roll back to one in minutes. We would still suggest keeping your own off-server copy of anything you cannot recreate, as you would on any unmanaged server.
Can you help me move from another provider?
Yes. Tell us what you are running now and our UK team will talk through the move with you, including DNS cutover and keeping downtime near zero. Server-level migrations vary a lot, so we scope them individually rather than promising one size fits all.
How does billing work?
Monthly, with no contract and no minimum term, and you can cancel whenever you like. Prices exclude VAT, and the price you see on a plan is the price of the whole server.
